What is the Wonderlic?

The Wonderlic has been a part of the NFL Scouting Combine since the 1970s when Tom Landry helped to introduce it as a part of NFL prospect evaluation. Landry required that anyone he was considering to draft take the Wonderlic test, which resulted in the NFL making the Wonderlic a part of the NFL Scouting Combine.

While many aspects of the NFL have changed over there years, the Wonderlic gives us a level playing field so we can see how the current stars in the NFL, current NFL prospects, and past NFL Hall of Fame-ers compare to one another.

About Sam Darnold

Sam Darnold has been at the top of the radar for many NFL analysis for quite some time, and for good reason.

He is the only quarterback in USC history to throw 5 touchdowns in back to back games. He was largely responsible for taking USC to the Rose Bowl for the first time in 8 years. He has tremendous throwing strength, good speed, and great accuracy – all of what makes him a potential NFL star. See for yourself in his 2017 highlight reel:

All that said, not everyone is riding the Sam Darnold bandwagon. Many have questioned his decision making abilities, and believe he has much to learn before becoming a highly productive NFL starter. What’s more is the fact that Darnold will not be throwing at the NFL Scouting Combine, which has many fans worried about his future talent.
